Pre-K Bee Room
(Community partner with the Verona School District)
Social interactions with peers, self-help skills, letter and sound recognition, rhyming, writing of names as well as other letters and numerals, numeral recognition and adding and subtracting with manipulatives are some of the many things that the children in The Bee Room are working on.
The Bee Room was designed to provide exceptional care for children aged 4 years to 5 years. Enrolled families can expect a safe, secure, nurturing, and age-appropriate learning environment. Experienced, well-qualified teachers are staffed at a 1:12 ratio. Teachers are dedicated to responding promptly to every child’s daily needs.
The Bee Room has a parent area which displays weekly lesson plans, upcoming events, classroom volunteer sign up, as well as a glance at each particular day’s activities. In addition to communication at drop off and pick up, families are encouraged to call or visit as desired.
Bees continue to practice consistency by following a daily routine. Teachers foster growth by introducing new experiences through creative play and exploration while encouraging children to learn.

DeAnn Walsh, co-lead teacher in the Bee classroom, has been working at Here We Grow since August of 2010. Her experience includes working with 2’s, 3’s and 4’s.
DeAnn has worked in a child care since 2004 and has worked with preschool-aged children since 2008. She is currently certified by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) for ages birth-11. While attending college at UW-Platteville for Elementary Education/Early Childhood Education, DeAnn felt that the younger age groups were her calling.
DeAnn feels that it truly takes a village to raise a child and we all need to work together to nurture, love, and foster the growth of our young children. She also feels that when we work together toward the same goals, our youth have a great chance to succeed and become life-long learners.
During her free time DeAnn enjoys watching movies, reading, and spending time with friends and family. She also loves to cook, with casseroles and homemade soups being her favorite dishes.
Liz Harman, co-lead teacher in the Bee classroom, has been working at Here We Grow since August of 2018.
Liz attended UW-Platteville where she graduated with a BS in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. After graduation, she began teaching preschool in Platteville before moving to the Madison area where she taught 4K with the Middleton School District.
In her free time, Liz enjoys spending time with family, being outside on the boat, camping or golfing. Currently, she lives in Prairie Du Sac with her husband, Matt and their daughter, Laney. They love to go on walks and play outside together at home or at the playground. On Fall weekends you will find them watching and cheering on the Badgers and the Packers!
